Our Class Charter
As a class we thought of the rules we will follow.
Homework
Homework will be set on a Wednesday and due back the following Wednesday.
Maths: homework will be set on My Maths or TT Rockstars.
Spelling: The children are given a list of words at the beginning of each half term. They are taught the spelling rule each week and then the test is usually carried out the following Wednesday.
Reading: Reading record booklets will be sent home with each child and children are required to try to read a few times a week. Parents need to sign these reading records after each time their child has done some reading. The number of times each child has read over that week will be recorded (maximum one recording per day of reading) and prizes will be given to children as they reach certain milestones.
Autumn term: Certificates will be given via Marvellous Me for 25 and 55 reads. If you child receives both certificates they will join us for a reward in the last week of term.

Autumn Reading Target
Reading at home is always greatly encouraged, and to support this children can work towards earning a reward at the end of each term. The Autumn 2024 rewards is an in-school cinema event (with popcorn!). The target to reach to attend this event is 55 days of reading. Final counts will be collected on Friday 6th December. This will ensure enough time for the school to make arrangements.
Book Recommendations
Please take a look at the recommended reads below for Year 4. Please use this list to support reading for pleasure at home, as well as ideas for Birthday Books for the class.
