The quests for Year 6 during 2024-25 are:

Autumn: Heroes and Villains

Spring: Journeys

Summer: Fiesta!

Below is some more information about the quest and the exciting learning that Year 6 will be completing.

Autumn Term

Our Autumn Term quest was  'Heroes and Villains.'  Throughout the quest we explored what makes a true hero and what makes a true villain.  In our quest we will have some Big Bang Moments including our STEAM trip to Thorpe Park, as well as well making periscopes and trenches whilst learning about the heroes and villains of World War One.

Homework

For the first half term, Year 6 pupils will receive spelling homework on a Monday and Maths on a Friday each week.  The homework and the due date will be recorded in their planners.

Spelling will be given out on a Monday is handed in on the following Monday. These spellings will correspond to a spelling objective that is being taught in class that week.  This spelling objective will then be consolidated in class on the following Monday.

Maths will be given out on a Friday and will be handed in on a Tuesday.

Reading at Home

Reading at home is always greatly encouraged, and to support this children can work towards earning a reward at the end of each term. The Autumn 2024 rewards is an in-school cinema event (with popcorn!). The target to reach to attend this event is 55 days of reading. Final counts will be collected on Friday 6th December. This will ensure enough time for the school to make arrangements. 

To encourage peer discussion, the children will be encouraged to add any recommendations to our class Padlet. A link for this was sent via MarvellousMe.

PE

PE is on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please ensure that your child wears their PE kit to school on these days.
