Quests
The quests for Year 6 during 2024-25 are:
Autumn: Heroes and Villains
Spring: Journeys
Summer: Fiesta!
Below is some more information about the quest and the exciting learning that Year 6 will be completing.
Spring Term
Our Spring Term quest is 'Journeys.' Throughout the quest, we will explore the worlds of mountains and rivers. We will accompany our geographical studies with some thought-provoking texts, including Survivors by David Long and The Village That Vanished by Ann Grifalconi.
Homework
Homework is set twice weekly via CGP Books - pupils will record the page numbers in their homework diaries.
Monday - Maths due Friday
Wednesday - English due Monday
Spelling will be set each Monday (on Spelling Shed or pupils can keep a record in their diary), and tested the following Monday.
Reading at Home
Reading at home is always greatly encouraged, and to support this children can work towards earning a reward at the end of each term. The Spring Term reward is an Easter Egg Hunt. The target to reach to attend this event is 8 entries on Padlet. Each entry should discuss a different book - children should explain WHY they recommend it and WHO they would recommend it to. Final counts will be collected on Monday 24th March. This will ensure enough time for the school to make arrangements.
PE
PE is on Mondays and Wednesdays. Please ensure that your child wears their PE kit to school on these days.
